When I went to Walmart yesterday looking for cheap and easy neighbor gift idea for our new home, I found this snowflake covered clear pail in the Christmas aisle. I instantly fell in love with it.
I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of ideas using this in the next week since there are so many possibilities for this container, but today I wanted to share a fun and easy idea if you can't or don't like to bake.
I've seen this idea around the web, but I thought it would be perfect and so much fun for our new neighbors. (Nothing like giving sweets out to make new friends!)
I started by buying some Ding Dongs, Ho Hos, Cupcakes, and Little Devils, but if you are going to do just the basic poem, you will need Ding Dongs and Ho Hos only.
I wanted my poem to be a little more personal, so I wrote a few more verses. It says:
We're new to Canon City
And we're loving fun friends,rivers, and mountains galore.
We'll try to be good neighbors;
As sweet as cream filled cupcakesAnd not little devils and more.
So we're sweetly wishing you
"Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry ChristmasFrom the new Ding Dongs next door."
The Elliotts
Using all the sweets listed in the poem, I packed them into the can as decoratively as I could.
Then I purchased some red, sparkly ribbon and tied the tag onto the edge.
Since you probably aren't moving into a new neighborhood, I made the simple tag for you to add to your can, plate, bowl, or bag of treats.
It says:
"Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas
From the Ding Dongs next door!"
If you can use this, simply right click and save the picture to your computer.
