Oh The Places You Will Go Graduation Party

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to great places.
You're off and away!

This book is the perfect gift for graduates and what better way to celebrate your graduate going off into the world than with a Oh The Places You'll Go themed party?

I started this party by making this Congratulations banner out of hot air balloons.  You can see the directions to make it HERE.  By putting it on a blue background out of some material I found on clearance at Walmart, I made the balloons look like they were floating in air.

I sort of went with a transportation theme in all my food and decorations, so the graduate could celebrate all the places she could go.  These candy planes went right along with the theme.  I used Smarties candies, a piece of gum, and lifesavers.  Everything was kept in the wrapper and then glued together so it could be eaten later by the guests.

Behind the planes on both sides are the Hot Air balloon candy dishes filled with M&Ms and Hershey Bliss candies.  You can check out how to make them HERE.

Next to the planes are the Diploma Graduation Chocolate Covered Oreos.  These are milk chocolate covered double stuffed oreos with a white chocolate diploma on top.  These oreos are the most DELISH thing and I have them at almost all my parties.

On the other side of the table next to the Candy Planes are fruit roll ups dressed up like diplomas.  I unwrapped the fruit roll ups and then tied different colored curly ribbon around it like a diploma.

In between the fruit roll ups and the oreos, I made sugar cookies in different transportation shapes.  I have Hot Air balloons, feet, trains, cars, and planes.  (Yea, I forgot to take a picture of them, but be grateful...I haven't reached that level of perfection that I was hoping for HERE yet.)

Behind the cookies are 5 rainbow cupcakes on Dr Seuss cupcake stands that I made HERE.  Each of the cupcakes have a topper.  Each of the topper reads a different word of the saying "OH THE PLACES YOU'LL GO" in Dr. Seuss font.

Behind everything is a plastic canvas train that I've been working on all week in my "spare" time.  I LOVE how it turned out.  I was able to add the kids' pictures into the train windows so they were really a part of the party fun.

The train is done in primary colors blue, red, yellow, and green so will fit in almost any color decor. Plus, each of the tops of the train have been left off so I can use the train to hold candy for the party.

This train will soon be added to my store, so some lucky family can enjoy this fun train at their party and in their home!

This was a small and simple, but cute party that works for our Dr. Seuss' Oh The Places You'll Go graduation party or even a Transportation themed birthday party!
