Do you ever look at yourself sometimes and wonder How did I get here?
Not in a bad way...but just WOW...where did the time go?
In many ways, I still feel like I did when I was in high school...in other ways, I feel MUCH, MUCH older.
In other ways, it kind of scares me how old I've become.
Time has just seemed to fly past me.
Last night my Dear Hubby took "Mini Me" and "The Daredevil" on a Father/Son campout with the other men in our Church. They went fishing, camping, and had LOTS of Smores...a guys dream.
"The Perfectionist" had his 8th Grade dance last night.
He's quite the social bug and was super excited to go (even so much that he missed fishing..which he LOVES to do.) He and his "buds" went out to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner and then on to the dance.
When I picked him up, he was GLOWING. It made me as a parent so thrilled to see him enjoying life so.
That left a long, quiet Friday evening with just my daughter and me.
"Drama Queen" is a freshman in high school, and she's really had it pretty hard since we moved here 5 years ago. There's been a series of bullies, personal issues, friend issues, and more that have made things much harder for her than need be....but despite it all she has a wonderful, happy, giving outlook on life. She constantly amazes me.
So she and I went on a Mommy/Daughter date last night.
It was wonderful to spend time with her.
I know that I'm really not going to have her much longer. I'm not going to have either of them much longer. And it saddens me.
I don't know when they got so old...I don't know when I got so old.
How do you mother's handle it?
I know I still have a FEW years before they leave the nest, but wow...it's coming...and WAY TOO fast!

Now that I'm all sentimental...let's have some fun and giveaway the Mothers wall plaque....
The winner is...
Think Smink who shared her Dress Re-cycle for her daughter's big dance.
It's amazing what we go through for our children...and Kim really put her heart, soul, and time into this beautiful redo. I am the worst seamstress EVER, so the fact that she completely ripped this dress apart and got it back together again really amazes and impresses me! I would never have the courage to take that dress apart. But the final dress is almost as beautiful as this sweet girl!
You totally need to go check out Kim's gallery...it seems everything she makes is beautiful. Her paintings are just amazing. That's one talent that I DO NOT have but just envy. I love her breadbox...it's so delicate and gorgeous... and that sweet toy box...it is just to die for! Such amazing work. (Have I used enough adjectives to let you know how amazed I am by her work? I am totally going to have to go check out her shop.) And if you go and check out Think Smink and become a follower you can enter to win one of her creations. Check it out on her blog HERE.
Kim drop me an email HERE with your address and I'll get out your party favor asap!
In honor of Teacher appreciation week and the end of the school year coming up so soon, this week's party favor is going to be our Finest Teacher wall plaque.
I know it's hard sometimes to come up with a frugal but special gift to say a special thank you to that teacher who has worked so hard to help your child through the school year. This Finest Teacher wall plaque is a great idea at a great price. Your teacher can hang it on her door or wall to remind her daily how special she is.
To ENTER, just join our Linky Party by sharing your favorite party themed craft, table scape, photo, favor, or whatever! I'm pretty flexible since just about everything can be used at a party...that's the great thing about us moms! We can see the potential in ANYTHING!
(We'll use a random generator to pick the winner next Friday evening.)
Linky Party Guidelines:
